In England, the farmers of Gloucestershire used to ask for a "Sheep Dip" when ordering a whisky. This particular Scotch is said to have become popular with farmers because invoices for "Sheep Dip" could easily be lost in their accounts if they kept a few sheep. Still distilled and bottled in Scotland for M.J. Dowdeswell & Co. Ltd., of Oldbury on Seven, Gloucestershire, "The Original Oldbury Sheep Dip" bottle features a label with a bucolic scene of old-time farmers tending their flock.
